3G Love Movie Review

Rating : 2.5

Story: Set in the backdrop of a graduation college, the film seeks to mirror how love has evolved in the age of 3G connectivity. It is all about teenage love, infatuations, heartbreaks, betrayals and other such tribulations amidst ten couples in love.

Movie Review: It's a teenage-romance laced with truck loads of sleazy jokes and innuendos that are passed up as profound ruminations about the nature of love, and how boys love differently from the girls! It's the kind of humor that draws parallels between girls and Bluetooth! Here are a few gems that might help you understand better.

"Ammayilu bluetooth lanti vallu, deggara ga unte baga connect ayitharu, dooranga unte verevadi tho connect ayitharu." (Girls are like Bluetooth, they connect to you when you are close to them, the moment to go away they will connect with somebody else in the vicinity). . .goes a joke. Boys always want to lose their virginity, but girls never want to lose their virginity (really?) . . . goes another punch dialogue.

There's a song that goes Safety konchem kavale, love bandi ki stepney kavale, boyfriend okkadayithe risk e le, iddarunte godavaledu le" (we all need some safety, we all need a stepney (in love, two boy friends are better than one) goes another. "Love is just an excuse for sex" goes another. Clearly the writing is all aimed to hit below the belt, and has no taste whatsoever.

It just seems like a bunch of adolescents who just discovered the joys of non-vegetarian jokes came together to write the dialogues. The sense of humor is with the lack of a better word, just too "hormonal". There really isn't any story. There are 11 couples in love and each of them comes with problems a plenty. The problems range from managing multiple boyfriends, pregnancy, choosing the right guy to marry. . . the works.

The background score by Sekhar Chandra stands out, and combines with the colorful cinematography adds a depth to the otherwise mundane proceedings. With a star cast of 20 newcomers, the performances just don't register. There is some freshness in the song writing but then it all just goes unnoticed in the avalanche of adult jokes.
